CANING SERVICES

How to price your piece

The first two pictures are a reference for pricing your piece.
Weaving is priced per drilled hole for hand woven cane and by the inch of the longest dimension for all other weaves.

counting holes_edited.jpg

COUNTING THE HOLES

Count the holes that are drilled around the perimeter of the seat in the wooden frame. Once you have counted the total number of drilled holes, multiply the number of holes by the rate.

Be sure to not count the holes made by the woven pattern.

MEASURING THE RAIL

For all other types of caning and weaving, measure the single longest dimension and multiply the length by the rate of the weave you have.

Measurements are rounded to the nearest quarter of an inch.

Andrew went above and beyond in applying his skills to a pair of my treasured Danish Modern chairs, taking care to research the chairs for the authentic pattern and consulting me along the way, with prompt and courteous service. He's a true artisan!
